Beaulieu Palace House - Oak Bedroom

The concept for the Oak Bedroom was inspired by the location of Palace House, the beautiful New Forest, as well as the history of the home which was once used as a hunting lodge. I decided to highlight both of these features within my design in subtle ways. For the walls I created a bespoke watercolour wallpaper which shows some of the different tree species found in the surrounding New Forest. I felt the painterly look of the wallpaper would
complement the historical style of the home and be more in keeping with the dark vintage furniture. However, to help
brighten the space I opted for a white background on the
wallpaper to avoid the room feeling dark.
